Crossing the Drake Passage.

Prakash Bang [Right] with the Captain

33 hours after leaving Yankee Harbor, we crossed the Drake and were at the mouth of Beagle Channel. Our scheduled arrival time at the Ushuaia Pier was at 7 am on the 19th. Since the weather was favourable, we reached 12 hours earlier. Actually, the cruise has a buffer of about 12 hours to allow for delays due to bad weather. We anchored in the Beagle Channel. The last evening on the ship was celebrated with a little party. The Captain joined in. Every passenger was honoured with a Certificate - the completion of the Antarctica Expedition.

A pilot came in from Ushuaia and guided our ship through the Beagle Channel to reach the pier on schedule on the morning of the 19th.

Long live Antarctica!
